SMARTRURAL PROJECT – 2nd MEETING

Smartrural 2nd meetingThe second meeting of the SMARTRURAL project partners (Erasmus + KA203 project – Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education Towards smart rural tourism development in Europe, acronym SMARTRURAL) took place on 27th of March, 2020. The project concerns modern forms of education in the field of rural development and rural tourism. The meeting took a slightly different form than planned and took place online. Originally, the partners were to meet at the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), but unfortunately the coronavirus pandemic thwarted the plans. During the meeting, participants shared their experiences on the first activities in the project, and also referred to the planned course programs and modules addressed to students, but also to people dealing with rural tourism. In the near future, all partners participating in the project will deal with specific topics divided into modules, i.e.: introduction to tourism (smart tourism), sustainability, creativity and design, design thinking, modern business models, digitization. Syllabuses, methodology and initial proposals for a pilot program will be developed as next step. The next meeting is scheduled for late October in Alicante (Spain).
